Humility is not thinking less of ourselves but thinking of ourselves less.

If you have children, you know they are great at maintaining their parents’ humility. My youngest child, Lexi, is particularly gifted in this area.

Along with the books and columns I write, I have been writing this newsletter/blog for 22 years now. Occasionally I will ask my kids what they thought about one of my blog posts on a topic that is relevant to them.

I recall one time I asked Lexi about a topic. She was 13-years old. I was interested in her perspective on managing Millennials which I had addressed in that week’s post. With no hesitation whatsoever, she confidently and directly replied, “Oh, Dad, I unsubscribed to your newsletter a loooong time ago!”

Thanks to my kids, humility prevails!

Lexi is a stickler for details and is also gifted at writing, so we have since made her editor of our newsletters. Now she must read them!
