My son and I used to enjoy the television drama “Numb3rs” on Friday nights. It’s a thinking show where a genius FBI agent applies complex mathematical methods to solve crimes.

So I thought, “Why not share some interesting numbers with you?”

Not to worry, no math degree or calculators required.

1 – Action is all it takes to get you closer to your goals.

As Zig Zigalr said, “ou don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.”

3 – Words can change someone’s world.

Try one of these three-word, power-packed statements to make someone’s day:  I love you, I thank you, I am sorry, I trust you, You are terrific, God bless you, I can help, I understand you, You are talented.

11 – Job changes for the average person during their career (according to the U.S. Department of Labor).

18 – Years in business for The L Group, Inc.

Here are my three words… “I thank you” for your support and encouragement.

28 – Days of repeated activity required to create a new (positive) habit.

First we form our habits, then our habits form us.

30 – Percent of New Year’s resolutions that last more than one month.

Focus x Competence x Passion = Adherence (ability to stick to your plans)

50 – Fortune 500 CEOs removed from their posts each year.

These common leadership responses to tough times likely lead to this high turnover.

107 – Ways to Stick to It listed in this rapid-read book.

You perseverance is the best, and maybe the only, competitive advantage during tough times.

900 – Years old when Jedi master, Yoda, died.

Now, that’s a long time to accrue wisdom. It probably took my little green Star Wars friend that long to come up with my favorite quote, “Do or do not. There is no try.”  Our words are the seeds of commitment.

1,000 – Inventions created by Thomas Edison.

He fought through many failures while inventing so many things. In fact, he said, “Genius? Nothing! Sticking to it is the genius. I’ve failed my way to success.”

6,570 – Days until a newborn baby goes to college.

Seize every moment! You never know when it might be your defining moment.

– Opportunities to make a positive difference!

A single word or act can create a positive ripple effect many people and many miles away.

I hope this all adds up for you.  Until next week1,000,000 good wishes!
