To add to your weekend reflection….
Hugging the Mirror
by Cameron Colan
light shines at its own speed
time moves at something in between
here in the moments where they meet, the soul is freed
there where life shines
on the leaf getting the light it needs,
on the wound getting the care it needs,
on the root getting the water it needs,
on the head getting the shoulder it needs
there rests a moment within it all
where each reckons with all they’ve done
everything between the big and the small
there, you feel the light meeting the time
standing in it
you feel it, freedom
open doors to the past
shadows of transgressions
that you too shall let pass
there’s a glare, the mirrors throwing a light back to where
you made it
it meets you
in that moment there is only one thing to do
not all you were told to
not all that feels right
but open arms greet the old you
letting you know that it all is alright

Sense of Season is a quiet unfolding… a meditative collection of poems that listens as much as it speaks. Rooted in wonder and memory, these pieces trace the invisible threads between the human spirit and the natural world.
