We are in the midst of baseball season. Baseball uses a great tool to both hype up the individual player and to prepare the audience for the next player to bat or pitch. A walk-up song is played as each player strolls up to the plate or when a new pitcher takes the mound. These songs (or snippets of them) can tell a lot about a player. Some songs are chosen for the beat, others for the lyrics.

Music can elevate your mood immediately.  Whether it is the lyrics, the beat or the memory that it evokes – music is powerful. Consider selecting a song to play (even if it is in just your head) to get you in the right state of mind the next time you:

  • Deliver a presentation
  • Make a sales call
  • Have a tough discussion with a colleague.

Of course, you can use the song to simply help elevate your mood whenever you need it.  As an example, many years ago, our youngest daughter chose Break My Stride by Matthew Wilder to boost her mood and confidence before a big exam or event.

We have many tools readily available to help us thrive each day.  Music is just one of them.
