The best way to finish strong is to start strong.

That’s one reason each new President creates a plan for “The First 100 Days.” It sets the tone for an incoming President. The 100 Day Plan is a must for the leaders of the free world.

As leaders of your own world, you should also have a 100 day plan to set the tone for your “term” and your team.

If you want to reach your goals, you have to mentally see them and then physically write them down. Just seeing them is not sufficient – your goals should be written.

Writing (or typing) your goals will clarify what you are trying to accomplish. It also forms a critical transition between simply being interested in a goal to being committed to them. After all, a goal without a plan is just a dream.

To boost accountability for achieving your 100 Day Plan:

  1. Involve your team in developing the plan. We are committed to that which we help create.
  2. Keep it visible … to you and to your team.
  3. Determine what you will do each day to execute each action, and do those tasks first!
  4. Maintain a meeting rhythm with your team to assess progress on each action.
  5. Coach performance to stay/get on track with your plan.
  6. Celebrate success with your team at 100 days.

And of course, on day 101 create a plan for the next 100 days.
