I was recently reminded of the simple childhood prayers that my family and I said every night and before each meal.

At bedtime, we would pray:

Now the night has gone away, Jesus Savior hear me pray.
Asking Thee to watch and keep and to send me quiet sleep.
Jesus, Savior, wash away all that has gone wrong today.
Help me every day to be kind and gentle, more like Thee.

And before each meal, we would pray:

God is great. God is good.
Let us thank him for our food. Amen.

As I look back, these daily prayers really helped form my outlook on my life and myself.

Simple truths are both timely and timeless, so I am now returning to these beautiful, simple prayers.

Perhaps there are simple practices from your youth you can return to as well.

Wishing you a child-like weekend!
